Hey everyone.
Hope you all had a great week. The mission
field is pretty awesome. The work is hard up here in Portland but I think it
makes us work harder. Last week we
tracted 10 hours and only 6 people actually answered their doors. Almost half of the doors say NO soliciting
and under it they write that includes religion. The members are really good at
feeding us every night. They have us scheduled out for the next 2 months. We are hoping they will find us some new
referrals. Almost half the people we knock don’t believe in a god and the other
half seem to think they have it figured out.
We do have some good progressing investigators
and two have committed to baptism. One of them is named Suzie and she seems
hopeful. She came to church and loves the gospel. She even quit taking drugs
cold turkey this week. The other investigator is probably a month or more out
but I think he will get there. It’s hard
to see how much of a grasp Satan has on this world. It’s extremely sad and
heart breaking. People wonder why the world is so wicked, and why god hasn’t
stopped it. I want to tell them that it is because people like them use their agency
to make it that way…but I don’t. J
Anyway my
comp Elder Bishop is from Chicago. He has graduated from college. It’s crazy
that he is almost ten years older than me. I am glad though because he is
training me good and putting us in situations to succeed. The zone is pretty
amazing. Except today one Elder totally kicked a Sister in the face today
when we were playing soccer that wasn’t good.
Some funny news, I guess this last week some Elders went on a hot air
balloon ride for Pday and got in some pretty big trouble with the mission
president. Our mission president is a stud though I love him.
I love
all you at home.
-Elder Williams
